School Project

 

Rationale

Internationalism is an integral part of the world class education program at all International High Schools. An important part of theses educational programs that we develop are with other schools, both at home and overseas. Trading World International have an extensive program of exchanges and study tours through which both students and staff have the opportunity to expand their horizons, learn new skills and develop as global citizens.

Our Programs focus on participants taking time out to focus on their own lives while uplifting lives in a rural community. Taking into account individual and community needs while becoming Global learners and Citizens.

These Primary and High Schools are nestled on the boundary of Kruger National Park some 10,000 square kilometres in size in the north-eastern part of South Africa. They are co-educational schools with between 200 and 600students.They are places where education is highly valued, but are resource-poor.

 

Aims

The aims of the Projects are several:

·        The development of new cultural understandings

·        The forging of curriculum links and sharing of teaching and learning resources

·        The fostering of opportunities for cross-cultural education and interaction

·        To assist Schools by providing physical resources in the areas of need: books, computer facilities, sporting equipment, other teaching and learning resources

Why South Africa?

These schools, in these rural areas are adjacent to the World Renowned Kruger National Park. The students and staff not only have the experience of working out in the local community but the unique experience of stay and exploring Africa’s Big 5  wildlife.
